Working alongside founders for years, I saw how much meaning they pour into their teams, and how little exists to honor that.
I started Figurative after years of working closely with early-stage teams — designing products, sitting beside founders, and watching companies take shape from the ground up. From my time at Cornell to building tools at Harvard and MIT Labs, and later, designing foundational AI-powered interfaces as founding designer at Numeric, I’ve been immersed in the rhythm of startups. Through it all, I came to understand not only how founders build, but also how deeply they care about the people building alongside them.
And yet, when those teams hit a milestone or wanted to show appreciation, there was rarely a way to mark it that felt as meaningful as the work itself. T-shirts and stickers felt temporary. Bonus checks were appreciated, but impersonal. I saw a gap: a need for something lasting, meaningful, and well-made.
That’s what led me to create Figurative.
We design fine jewelry using 100% recycled precious metals — subtle, symbolic, and made to last. Each piece is adjustable, intentional, and crafted to honor the moments that matter.
Whether it's a founder recognizing their early team, or a VC marking a portfolio company’s growth, Figurative offers something meaningful — something worth holding onto.
We’ve spent years cultivating close relationships with specialty manufacturing partners to ensure every piece holds both technical precision and emotional weight — the kind of object someone keeps close, wears often, and never forgets why it was given.
Rooted in San Francisco, Figurative draws from the quiet confidence of the Bay Area — thoughtful, enduring, and deeply human.
